19th Annual Bike Ride
The Giant Steps Bike Ride is an annual event to raise money for Giant Steps Sydney and Giant Steps Melbourne.

This year’s ride will take place on Friday 14 November to Sunday 16 November around the Canberra region. Approximately 30 cyclists of varying abilities will challenge themselves as they take on a inspiring and unforgettable ride through the beautiful ACT countryside. Rob Crowe, 2-time Olympian and champion Australian road cyclist, will accompany the cyclists providing expert advice, support, and motivation. The routes will cover over 100 kilometres on both Friday and Saturday with a short ride on Sunday morning.
Over 18 years we have raised over $4.2 million. This year our combined target is $200,000 for Giant Steps Sydney and Giant Steps Melbourne.
The money raised from the Bike Rides has enabled Giant Steps to erect playgrounds, convert a derelict building into a library, continue to expand the services provided to students and their families, offer overnight respite in Sydney and has assisted with the new build and expansion in Melbourne.

This year, 28 committed riders took to the roads of rural ACT, exploring new routes for the very first time in the history of our charity bike ride. It was a wonderful few days of community, challenge and purpose.
We were delighted to have our Chairman, Barry, coordinating the support crew throughout the ride. A special thank you also to Steve and Sue Anthony, who joined us for the welcome dinner and warmly waved our riders off.
Our heartfelt thanks go to Dania Zinurova, Jeremy Norton, Adrian Atherton and Cameron Abbott, all Giant Steps parents who championed this event. Because of the incredible efforts of our riders, support crew and community, we raised an amazing $176,000, bringing us well beyond our goal.
We were blessed with beautiful weather, and aside from losing the occasional rider along the way, the ride was a great success!
