World Autism Conference, 2007
In September 2007, Kerrie Nelson (Principal) and Claire Allen (Administrative Director) attended the World Autism Congress in Oslo, Norway. The Oslo conference drew together a large number of internationally renowned researchers and service providers in the area of ASDs. It was a great opportunity to learn and discover what is being practiced elsewhere.
The key issues from the conference were:
- the need in Australia for a national plan to support children and families across a lifespan;
- greater clinical research and improvements in Australia’s service delivery;
- a better range of educational options including residential schools, colleges and integrated early intervention programs
