Chris Wood

Chris holds a Bachelor of Arts (Key Program in Psychology) and a Master’s degree in Disability Studies. He began work at Giant Steps in 2012 to gain experience in the disability sector as a part of his psychology pathway. However, he fell in love with the program and proceeded to further his studies in the adult sector of the disability field. In 2013, he began his Master’s in Disability Studies through the University of Newcastle and proceeded to finish in 2015. Chris was able to implement changes across the GSCC program, in accordance to knowledge acquired from his front line experience and from the theoretical basis gained from his studies. In 2016, Chris proceeded to take the vacant Directors position at GSCC and has not looked back since.  Chris’s passion is working with individual community participation programs and providing age appropriate opportunities for young adults with autism. He is keen to take the GSCC program to the next level over the coming years.
